Filterqueen Majestic Vacuum Review
Filteration:
The Filter Queen Majestic Surface Cleaner offers the best filtration money can buy. Its filter has Better-than-HEPA Filtration rating. If your family has special medical needs like allergies or asthma, or you simply want the cleanest vacuum available in the market, the Majestic might be just what you need. I have personally carried out an experiment to convince myself how good the Mejestic's suction and filtration is. First, I vacuumed a very small section of my carpeted floor over and over 10 times very slowly using my regular Panasonic upright (MC-5190 7.2 AMPs with power brush). Next, I vacuumed the same area with the Filterqueen Majestic. To make certain that I was not picking up dust from the border of my first test pass, I ran the Majestic through the middle area of the test zone. The result was stunning! A Majestic filter picked up quite a lot of powdery dust that my Panasonic didn't. All the amperage advantage of my Panasonic didn't help because its vacuum bag clogs up and the suction suffered. If you have a chance to see a Filterqueen sales demo with a two stage filteration setup (the first one with a HEPA filter and the second one with a Filterqueen filter), you'll notice that the Majestic is capable of picking up very fine dust on the HEPA filter and even finer powdery dust that the HEPA filter missed on the Filterqueen filter.
Looking at filter alone, Filterqueen is indeed the king of the hill in the vacuum world.

Suction:
The Majestic's bagless cyclonic-action system never lose suction. The 2 speed selection system allows you to select near silent operation to very powerful cleaning. The Dyson's Root8Cyclone also copies the same design concept from the Filterqueen Mejestic. Dispite a very low amperage rating, the Filterqueen has a lot better suction than a lot of other non-premium consumer vacuum cleaners.
Noise level:
The Majestic is extremely quiet, making it ideal for family with babies. You can vacuum while your baby is asleep. You can talk without raising your voice while operating the vacuum cleaner. The older models has slightly quieter power brush head. The new 75the Anniversary Edition is much quieter.
What's new:
Like the auto industry, the Filterqueen has a 5-year model cycle. Each model has a different color scheme. At the beginning ofthe model year, the accessories are usually in dull plastic color. Chrome is added to the accessories slowly during the 5-year cycle. This model year (2004), Filterqueen offers the Majestic 75th Anniversary Edition. It has a gear driven power nozzle. No more belt to replace!
Durability:
For household use, your Majestic should last you a lifetime. The design of the machine is extremely simple. Almost nothing can go wrong. The parts that can break are (in order): (1) the connecting power cables (2) the belt and (3) the power nozzle motor or the main motor. A moderately used 10-year-old machine should have very little wear and I do not expect any of the above items to break.
Buying a Majestic:
The Majestic is only sold through direct sales channel. I dislike that very much. As a result, unless you don't mind paying above $1000, we suggest you consider getting a used one. Ebay is a great place to find a used Majestic in good condition. Find one that is less than 15 years old.
